LOCAL AREA:

Medulin is a sleepy fishing village of Roman origins that gets busy in the summer. It offers shops and many restaurants. Pula is only 10 mins away by car (or there's a bus stop at the top of the street), with historical Roman buildings and a Roman amphitheatre. Situated on the southern-most part of the Istrian Peninsula, Medulin offers mild winters and warm summers, clean sea and bathing from early May up to October. The Medulin bay stretches for 42 km with many sandy and rocky coves and 9 islets of the Medulin archipelago. The landscape is hilly with Mediterranenan pine forests. Within easy driving distance are many ancient Venetian towns and Roman sites including Umag, Porec, Vsar and Rovinj and the mountain-top villages of Buje, Motovun, Buzet, Vodjan, Labin. The fantastic Brijuni Islands are a 10 min feery ride. Opatija to the north is a stunning example of Augsbourg architecture. The nearby Premantura natural park has pristine coves. Venice can be reached by hydrofoil. Amazing views from panoramic flights from the local airport.

Beaches:
On the sea front there is a large and safe shallow area with sandy beach that is ideal for families and young children. You can also explore many rocky areas, beaches with high cliffs or quiet coves. Facilities are excellent offering showers, loungers, boat hire and sport equipment. Sea water is nearly always crystal clear, warm and virtually non tidal.
Entertainment:
There is entertainment to suit all including dancing, open air theatre and summer classical concerts. Medulin also has many bars and a night club/discotheque making it a popular resort for all age groups.

If casinos are your choice then you should not have to venture too far.

There are around 40 restaurants catering for both traditional and international taste. Locally caught fish is usually a speciality for restaurateurs in this area and prices, quality and quantity are very agreeable.

Recreational Activities:
Most activities are catered for in or around Medulin and are presented in a competent and safe manner.

There are many sports and activities available including:-

Also just outside of Medulin is an airport offering scenic flights over the area and islands.

Excursions to the islands by boat are very popular and if you are a diver then this area is a must for you. Tuition, hire of equipment and organised wreck and reef dives are well catered for.

Sailing and boating is also extremely popular and marina facilities are excellent.

Venture further a field for example to the Brijuni Islands and the Brijuni National Park or drive up the east coast of the peninsular along the coast and hills – the views are stunning!

PULA:

From Adriatic View Apartments a local bus service can take you from your door to Pula, a city steeped in history dating back to the Romans. With its cosmopolitan mix of restaurants, cafes and bars you can enjoy the local cuisine including fish, cured hams and locally grown fruit and vegetables in addition to the Italian influence of pasta and pizza. Enjoy the historic walks, roman villas, harbour, amphitheatre and open-air market offering fine local produce or the indoor market with an array of daily freshly caught fish and shellfish.

GOLF: A golf course is being built a couple of miles away in Liznjan. Another golf course is available in nearby Brioni.
